Happy Birthday To Me
Adventures Sep 16, 2014
If you missed my previous birthday post, I planned a little pre birthday celebration with 300 adorable children this year by hosting a little event at the Wat Chomsri SriOudom Wittaya School in Singhburi (about 2 hours outside bangkok). The children come from hill tribes where education is hard to come by. The monks at Wat Chomsri pick the children up every semester & bring them back to the school where they board for the term & receive an education paid for by donors such as us- thank you to everyone who helped by donating to the school! I’ve been going to visit and help out for the past few years now and it’s always such a special experience. With the help of my family and about 20 friends we were able to host not only lunch but a full day of arts & craft activities such as finger painting for the little little ones, t shirt drawing for the older kids, a Photo Booth complete with props and printer so the kids can take the photos home to show their parents, we also had a temporary tattoo booth which is always a huge hit, plus 2 clowns making balloon animals, not to mention our friend Peter and his friends who set up a little fishing game with toys as prizes (: It’s pretty safe to say the kids had a blast and so did we. I can’t imagine a better way to have kicked off my birthday celebrations this year.
