Gone Girl is one of those books about human nature that can creep in under your skin and linger long after you’ve turned the last page.  My initial love for books came from a deep obsession with mystery novels like Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys series… I later graduated to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes) and Agatha Christie.  Gone Girl definitely fulfills that missing mystery gap in my reading.  I couldn’t put the book down- such beautiful details, such surprising twists and turns, such twisted thoughts! The movie is in theaters now and if you haven’t already read the book i highly recommend you go see the movie and then read the book (the movie is missing some of my favorite pieces of the book, but overall it’s a pretty good film adaptation).  Just try not to go home and sleep with a knife under your pillow afterwards.
