Growing up by the beach meant endless summers, forever tan lines, & lots of seafood for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As a rule I tend to avoid eating seafood when I’m far from the sea but when quality places open up in the neighborhood, who can say no to a night of oysters, lobster, & wine?

Raw bar might be my favorite seafood date night spot in Bangkok. The restaurant is small but accommodating & it never gets too loud.

I love sitting at the chefs bar but only because it’s easy to drool over the fresh oysters from there. This night however, we sat upstairs because obviously I’d rather stare at that face instead of some shells, even if they are delicious 😍😋

So we started with a nice bowl of crab bisque- I love that they serve the crab on a spoon on the side so you really get to see how much you’re getting. Next up was this gorgeous plate of fresh oysters- A pair each from three different places, chef’s choice & really who’s gonna argue with the chef.

We savored over the oysters & a nice California Chardonnay 😍 can you see how happy I was?

Then things started getting really serious. A flurry of food began appearing… Starting with this stunning lobster roll that literally left my tongue out drooling on the table (I’m a really classy date, obvi).

They even took the heads and grilled them in pesto for us 😋

I mean we were seriously feasting. There was no sexy dinner talk. It looked more like a party scene from Game of Thrones when the Warriors return from battle, famished. Yes. Yes I just compared myself to a warrior from GOT. You can call me Khaleesi. Thanks.

By the way did I mention we got lobster rolls? I mean…. It’s hard to find lobster rolls in Asia. And I mean good lobster rolls. These were perfectly toasted bread buttered and stuffed with succulent lobster …. Sorry. I need a minute 😳😍😛
